Interesting thoughts, it is certainly true that a multicultural empire has many strengths. Whereas a multicultural nation can easily fail if it's been mixed too quickly, like what's happened recently in the UK, where multiculturalism is a big fail and would make the nation less capable of responding effectively to crisis.
