That's a different point. Apple proved with the original mac that at all in one was good. Then the iMac. Everyone else copied them. Yes, all in one PCs are good.

So why do you think that in the last 10 years the technology has been available no one has used it for a desktop?

Because it doesn't work in terms of UI when you are sitting at a desk. It works on mobile devices. Not desktops.

Right, I see emails I don't want, and without taking my hands off the keyboard, I perform a keystroke and they go. You seem to be suggesting taking your hands off the keyboard, leaning over and swiping fingers on a screen is better? No. It's a lot longer a process.

No, they are making Win8 to shoehorn Metro onto the desktop because it will make life easier for them just doing one OS. They are ignoring the fact that mobile devices and desktops need different UIs.
