At this point, why bother with VBulletin 5 on the horizon.
On a related note, VBulletin 3.5+ already has most every feature a forum needs. Well except one, last I checked, there's still no built-in way to send pictures to others in PMs. From my understanding, the limitation isn't technical, but rather philosophical - some of the VB developers feel image upload in PMs is not necessary, could be abused, etc ... but I digress.
Anyways, since GFY has waited this long, they might as well just skip v4 and go straight to v5. Many large forums have stayed with the 3.5+ series and are doing just fine.
