The U.S. is a Democratic Republic and the Government is run by those elected to represent the people in governance and the people have access to the ear of those that have been elected to represent them 24/7 and are free to express their pleasure or displeasure of what the Government is doing. The people can replace those that represent them every 2...four...and six years...if they do not like their performance. In between those periods of time the people can call for the impeachment or replacement of many of the positions in government.

As long as the U.S. remains a Democratic Republic there will never be a need to take up weapons against the Government as the power of governance remains in the hands of the people...they get the Government the majority either wants or that they deserve for not doing their due diligence in exercising their role in "for the people and by the people".
