I picked up the Canon SX-150is a few months ago ... My daughter was about to be born, and I wanted a 'decent' camera that I could take anywhere just for sharing photos with friends and family, without having to lug around the Rebel and my lenses, filters, etc ...

I am VERY VERY HAPPY with this camera! It has the same Digimac4 sensor it it as my Rebel does, and has all the same shoot modes the rebel has too! I can use it fully manual, fully auto, or anywhere in between.

The 720p HD video is very clean, and the colors are as warm as what made Canon what it is ... and the zoom is full active in video mode with no evidence of zoom noise!

The only caveat I have been able to find thus far, is the battery life. This camera sucks the life out of (2 AA) alkaline batteries like no tomorrow, but my camera guy told me to buy 4 Nickel Metal Hydride Energizer Rechargables, and now knock out a good 350 pics on one set of batteries (with the second set on standby in my pocket), or 100+ pics with flash. I can certainly live with this battery life.

One other small nuisance is the flash takes 8-10 seconds to recharge ...

Other than that, I can say nothing bad about this camera. I honestly think Rebel is getting a wee bit jealous as it sits at home on my desk.
