Success for most of these people stems from the fact that they have little to no concern with the law or consequences as every action is centered around the selfish idea of "I want..", rather than asking as an intelligent person would "what might the cost be.. what are the risks". That's what narcissism is. "i want ..." with no real ability to comprehend anything (consequences, feelings/needs of others, how it would impact others etc) beyond that.
innovators take risk

the sheep follow and copy what has been done before and brag about how successful they were for simply implementing other peoples ideas.

Right or wrong, trying to attack and shame the people that just turned your life inside out isn't going to end well. Poorly executed warrants, doesn't change that fact that he can eventually be charged and stand trial for crimes.
And that because you totally don't understand the point of this.

The current case is botched, because of the procedural violations.

They may be able to make an arguement against him in the future, but before they go forward they will have to prove that it is not just another botched case .

He has made it harder for them to get a conviction the next time because they have to jump thru even more hoops to justify their position

Criminal copyright infringement and contributory infringement obviously do not fall under "freedom of speech" or "freedom" or "a free society". In fact, "freedom" was defined by the forefathers (Adams?) as the protection of personal property.
1. copyright takes away property rights and replaces them with licencing rights.

2. vcr, printing press, cable television, mp3 players, etc, etc, were all called copyright infringement and were ultimately validated as perfectly legal

3. many countries don't have contributory infringement.
