Google is useless. I'm searching for very specific terms on a subject I'm researching, and I get the same site (different pages, though - over and over) - even if the term I'm seaching for is not listed on that page. I do not know what bizarre combination of English language words Google wants me to search for to get to get even a taste of relevant informantion.
Inbound social media links > actual information and relevance.
Here's a little project for people who like to lick hairy Google anus:
Pick a niche. Boots for dogs. Ingrown toenails. Blondes Licking Ice Cream... Doesn't matter. Now make a website with lots of information, but cover every inch of your "above the fold" space with a flash banner.
You will never get listed anywhere useful. A Youtube video with 18 views will be listed ahead of you. With a big ol' Flash banner and a "You can skip this ad in 5 seconds..." link to boot.
Information is irrelevant. Google has about as to do with distributing information as I have to do with the weather.
Baddog doesn't realize that Google feeds him results based on his search history - whether he is logged in or not. If all you do is surf conservative news sites, you're going to get results that differ from someone who searches for lawnmowers, fat dogs with bushy tails, or even busty old women with an overbite.
Being "logged in" is irrelevant - as is Google itself. Google is geared towards generating revenue. It has no interest in disseminating knowledge.
