It was the TV network that insisted he wear the tether - or they'd cut the broadcast. And since he needed network money to cover the bills...
NPC (Niagara Parks Commission) says they will only grant another stunting permit 20 yrs. from now...so this may have been a one-shot deal with Wallenda. He had a helluva time convincing the NPC to allow the walk - it took two presentations and involvement by the provincial tourism minister to convince them.
