EVERYBODY has "insurance" these days for every last little thing. And it really just comes down to being able to control people and make money for insurance companies.
I'm skeptical that Miss Lohan has EVER partied as hard as say...Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin for instance. Yet those guys filmed Oceans 11 right here in Vegas wasted off their asses. Matter of fact all the Rat Pack had shows they performed in on the old strip and would meet up at 2 a.m. at The Sahara to start filming every night. They didn't need no stinkin' "insurance" lol

She's obviously a light weight amateur when it comes to partying anyway.

I think the insurance is actually for the movie production itself not the actor. They have the policy in place so that if something happens and the actor has to drop out or can't continue working the insurance kicks in and covers the cost of re-shoots, downtime, hiring new people etc.
I do agree with you though that I think Lohan likely hasn't done half the stuff she is reportedly doing. These days if a celeb goes out and has a couple of drinks two nights in a row the news is reported them as being out of control and needing rehab.
Meanwhile on one album Keith Richards was so strung out he couldn't even play so they worked around him and had some other people fill in for him. But then you never heard a word about it, we are only finding some of this stuff out now.
