I will say that for the majority of people buying, I'm sure it'd have been nice if Fris was a little more forthcoming about the licensing. Yes, all themes are essentially partially GPL licensed (the php code) and most will be fully GPL licensed. It may or may not be a good idea to buy this package, largely depending on how much need for support there'll be. Many themes are kind of useless if you intend to stay on the most current WP release when they come out - at some point, your theme and WP will clash unless your theme gets updated, and I'm assuming Fris won't be providing updated themes (it WOULD rock if he did but obviously he can't now on some of them given his bannings). You CAN certainly just stick with your current WP version while it keeps working with the theme and maybe upgrade upon each release but roll back if something goes wrong. Just realize that at some point outdated versions get more vulnerable to attack.

Again - all stuff that Fris maybe should have explained upfront in his thread as I'm sure some people wouldn't have bought, but I was aware of GPL when I bought. I had emailed Fris asking him a question about what could be done with GPL licensed themes and never got a reply, but no harm there.

One thing that should be noted is that Fris may or may not have bought all themes from the particular sites he had themes from, but the themes he's generally pointed to here when asked for recommendations have always been really nice, so if he only bought themes that he thought highly of for instance, that'd be worthwhile just to know given he's clearly spent more time looking at themes than nearly anyone else here.
