Agreed on all accounts.
If he was 100% in the right, he would have answered both her and the other chaps requests on the matter in a timely fashion for the threads cited. By that I mean, you/whomever would not be dodgy about it. A simple yes, no, or answer with an explanation would have sufficed.
She asked, was denied an answer, did her own investigation, posted what the people involved were telling her.
