Sorry, I'm confused. Since when is a company giving you a job your "right"? An individual should have the right to hire or fire anyone he chooses, just as a person has the right to take a job, or not, or quit a job anytime he wants to. If they have crazy hiring practices that drive away valuable people, then that is their loss. If your wife didn't want to work there, she had the right to quit. If they wanted to fire her, that was their right. Your wife didn't have the "right" to demand a job from them under her own terms. If she wants to make up her own rules, then she should start her own company. That's her right.
People seem to think these days that "rights" mean "entitlements".
