It happens all the time. When I was a younger man *cough* back during the cold war, there was a widely reported incident in East Germany, where an American operator was shot while peeking into a commie warehouse, to see if it actually held the hidden army of tanks the higher echelons feared was in place, just waiting to pounce on the west...

Just like the Mexican drug tunnels under the U.S. border, the N. Koreans have built an array of underground highways, to be used to launch a sudden, massive surprise attack -- you wont' see them coming, they'll literally pop up out of the ground, behind our lines.

Of course, they began this plan before ground penetrating radar and other technologies became as advanced as they are today.

Still, it is a terribly clever plan.
