To me it always seems the opposite.
If you are friends with someone, doing business as a secondary relationship is a terrible idea. It almost never works, somebody gets burned, and you end up hating each other.
If you are doing business together first and then become friends, there seems to be a better disconnect of sorts. Business stays at the front of the relationship. Or maybe this scenario means you aren't really friends?
No clue. At the end of the day, when it comes to both business and personal lives, most people try to do what is best for themselves. Blind loyalty is not a very common trait. Sometimes what people think is the best decision is the worst and they just don't see it.
