No, I'm sure he wasn't planning to run for president at the time his publicist was saying he was born in Kenya. I don't imagine they thought it would ever be an issue, that there would ever be "this birther thing". Come to think of it, a few years AFTER that is when he said he was totally unqualified to run for president, so he probably wasn't planning to run. He was just trying to be an interesting author and they took some liberty with the truth. That's not all that interesting, but that's what's new. The whole birth certificate thing is done and over with. Besides the fact that he IS president, so even if he hadn't been qualified to be elected for some reason, he was in fact elected and that's that.
