People are allowed to approach whomever. There are no laws against that. It only becomes illegal when the first person attacks.

Seems like it was all Zimmerman for awhile but everything coming out now paints a different story which also backs up the story of why police didn't immediately arrest him.
He'll get his day in court.

As more and more information leaks I think it is starting to look as though it will come down to what the jury believes started the fight.
If they think Zimmerman did nothing wrong and Trayvon attacked him Zimmerman could walk. If they think Zimmerman chased him down and aggressively confronted him, giving Trayvon a reason to defend himself they might find Zimmerman guilty.
