seems like people forget when they were teenagers. I will speculate what happened based on past teenage experience.
There was always a zimmerman on the block. He would always come stalking around , sometimes when we were doing bad shit , sometimes when we weren't, but we were cocky teens , so when he confronted you , you were often rude , and maybe even got in a scuffle a few times.
I would guess this zimmerman guy was one of these dicks. He probably stopped the kid and questioned him. The kid was probably cocky , rude and uncooperative. At some point zimmerman likely put his hands on the kid, the kid reacted as he had the right to, a fight broke out, zimmerman realized he was outmatched. maybe the gun popped out , maybe it didn't , maybe he was scared the kid would get ahold of the gun.
Shitty situation. I would give zimmerman a few years based on his approach to the situation , but thats not how the law works.
