Well, if you want to stay in the city there are plenty of awesome hotels to stay, including the Hard Rock Hotel. You can stay at the Gamboa Rain Forest Resort, which is located, yeah, in the Gamboa Rain Forest, overlooking the Gamboa river (just 20-30 minutes from the city). If you like the beach you can stay at the Playa Blanca Resort (all inclusive) or Decameron or any of the many all inclusives in the beach area (1.5 hours from the city). You can also travel to Bocas del Toro for a more exotic beach destination. I'm sure you will find many fishing tours easily, great place to surf, fish, rest, lay back and enjoy the sunshine... though we are entering the rainy season, which would affect you particularly if you are staying in the Rain Forest...
