if you live anywhere near country side go on a car ride and buy loads of cheap veg from roadside stalls. This time of the year you can get huge amounts for little money.
Go buy cheap ass pasta and and some rice and off all of that you *can* eat and it will be fresh food. Fresh tomatoes this time of year cost next to nothing from a farm stand and make a great sauce, salad, etc.
Dang, I really wish there were places like that around london.
