Not sure about Genesis, but when I need to render things faster in 3ds Max, I do things like set default renderer to scanline instead of Mental Ray, Vray, Maxwell, etc., set sampling down to around 1/4-1/32, use only one good light source or just ambient lighting, use pixel post effects instead of shaders if possible, use lower res texture files, optimize your meshes, etc.
What are you able to change as far as rendering settings go?
4 minutes isn't too bad, though. Some of my scenes have taken over a week to render on 24 computer network render..
