Sad, sad, sad...
I might have been at the Palais that night... I might have played at The Stones Club after this show... But, hey! That's all about me... rofl...
Picking on Paul all the time is sad. Sad, sad, sad... For Toronto boys, I lived in the area of King and Triller back in those days.
Flashback! This was one of many great nights! Keef! I love you! His dad was a cool guy, too. I love you, Paul. Love you Keef. Love you Bert!
Aside: Bert used to follow Keith all over the place. Country to country, gig to gig. Even after they "reconciled", Keith didn't want his dad to actually hang around. Keith paid for the hotel rooms and travel - but, there was 20 years of crazy shit going on...
By the time the Licks tour kicked into gear, there was no more Bert. No more sociable Keef. Just SARS...
Such a great time - and Mick Taylor is a fucking sweetheart. So shy he doesn't even want to talk. Ronnie? He'll talk to anyone, and Jerry Stone has about a million dollars worth of Ron Wood original paintings. Ronnie painted them with mustard and ketchup - but, what the fuck. They're on the walls of The Stone's Club at Queen and Brock last time I was there (a decade ago...) Times change...
I don't know if the place is still open, but if it is - drop in.
Ten to twenty years ago was a brilliant time to be musician in Toronto. What was this thread about? ROFL!
