I used to pay my rent this way a couple years ago. Seemed to work pretty good until the recipient clicked her acceptance link in the mail and the page displayed an error. The money was lost in cyber space. Took many phone calls to get it tracked down. The actual exchange of funds happened at that moment of clicking with my bank. If one server takes too long to respond, the other server processes as normal. Poof, gone. bank was scotiabank.
