the bottom line is
your camera gear and whatever content you have on them is gone, and you have the opportunity to get it back. do this first, before waging any other proxy wars. the content on your cameras, if not the cameras themselves are surely at least worth a G so get them back, THEN do whatever. you do not want LEO with access to your content, even if it is all legal, its a pandoras box. And its money lost from what you could have published in the meantime. About 2 yrs ago I was green/newbie enough to fly with a laptop and 2 external HDs... 4 TB of content much of which was unpublished/unedited. It ain't coming back, neither is the money I spent on filming. Get your shit back FIRST before doing anything thats all I gotta say, and best of luck to you. welcome to the club
