However, based on the article, I would say this guy is far from a gun nut. His "ammo stockpile" would be eaten up by the average gun nut during a single day at the gun range. He had a few guns and a few more gun parts, nothing that suggests he was a gun nut. I know people who consistently drop 5k a week on guns and ammo. However, none of them talk about doomsday shit or stockpile water, fuel, and food. They just like shooting.
For a guy who has spent 8 years building his "fort" he sure didn't have it stocked very well. Besides the fact that he killed his family, the biggest concern I see here is that anybody could have found his bunker and had access to his guns and ammo. What kind of "survivalist" doesn't secure his shit better than this? Dude was clearly a different breed.
