Qon (onprobation.com) caught a Thai burglar in his place and beat the fuck out him until the police came. Didn't get into any trouble and luckily nothing else happened to him later for causing problems for the guy, but he still may be in jail.
But yea, in most 3rd world situations, you either have to let it go or kill them and hide it. Nothing else you can do or you will end up fucked. I know a story here in Thailand where a guy got caught breaking into a foreigner's house and the foreigner saw his face and knew him, so just told him to leave and let it go. Then the guy came back a few days later and shot the home owner dead because he lost "face" by the guy seeing who he was. Sometimes you can't win from losing in these fucked up places.
