you guys may remember my house got robbed last year here in DR and i caught the guy in the act, he fled and jumped out a 2nd story window with my canon. when i told this to local gringos/expats here they tell me my only options in hindsight were to either do nothing and let it go, or take the guy out and delete all tracks, hide body etc. these are the only options... otherwise you'll end up on the wrong side of the law here for standing your ground, i get all these rambo WW2/vietnam era expats telling me all the tough guy shit they would have done if they were in my shoes, but seriously is it worth being locked up for months/years/forever for a damn slr... nope. and my same logic applies to the florida case. he should have left the kid alone, even IF he was doing something wrong. the instance you put your hands on someone unprovoked you're headed down the wrong path
