In the information game there is either 1 or 0 - everything else is just wasted electrons. Share the knowledge or don't, don't fret over the fact that this guy is trying to survive by learning. We all are. Move on.
On a sidenote: I volunteered information a few years back to a newbie, showed him the little I knew about adult web and tried to teach him basic html. Months down the road he bought me a plane ticket and paid for Vegas Internext hotel and pretty much all trip expenses.
When you help someone, you never know what will happen down the line. Sometimes it's good.
