I'll go to great lengths to help someone new out, even if they are looking at opening up something in direct competition to me.
Most people with any sense can take a look at a sponsor program anyways and get an idea of the direction of your business and in some cases, what your best converting sites are - we run stats on those inside our affiliate area. We aren't talking about state secrets here.
As far as content providers, there are some that I will pass along because I want to help the content provider out as well as the person asking the questions.
It's really the new ideas I'm working on that I guard carefully.
As far as people who don't post on boards and not doing business with them because of it. That's just plain silly. There are quite a few people who would just rather devote their time to working on their business than posting on boards. They develop relationships in other ways.
Most of my content providers have never even heard of Ynotmasters or GFY.
The service who currently hosts our server we met through a face to face meeting with another friend in the business while we were in Europe.
As much as many of you all love this board, there are many people in this business who come to it , look two or three times and see the lack of seriousness in a good portion of the posts, leave and never look back.
