Many argue that if everyone had a gun, and criminals knew it, that they wouldn't use guns in crimes. All I'm trying to do is call BS on that for the most dangerous crimes. They're commited or they're not commited before going in.

I see your logic. However, over the years there have been a handful of counties who passed laws which required the home owners to own at least one gun. In every case, the crime rate in those counties went down.
Once again, I'm not suggesting that more guns is the answer to anything. But your theory has been proven wrong more often than proven right.
Those who do what you are saying are typically suicidal and they do not make up the larger percentage of violent criminals.
