If none of these apply that you know of, I'm curious because I run some machines pretty warm. I'd be curious what temp yours were when they died.
The first one died the day after I built the machine. I consider a drive that fails within the first day or two of operation DOA. The next one held on for a almost a month. The last and final went for just under 90 days. Newegg was great through the whole thing. Their replacement policy is only 30 days but they conceded they had problems with that drive and they gave me a credit for the full purchase price.

The machine wasn't that warm. Just an i7 (not overclocked), single nvidia card and three case fans. There were two other WD Black drives as well but they were a couple of bays away and shouldn't have been doing much most of the time.

I had another die in the same time period in another machine I built as more of a check-in and POS for my office. Heat could have been an issue there. I built that computer in a mini-itx case. It always did run warm anyway but I (accidentally) left it running over a holiday weekend and turned off the AC in my office. When I came back on Monday the drive was dead. It was a sandisk that I bought on clearance at a local office store so I wasn't really surprised on that one.

I lost a vertex ssd in another machine that I bought on craigslist. It was ridiculously cheap for the whole machine. Since it was second hand I can't say what kind of life it had but it lasted 6 months or so after I bought it.

I have 4 SSDs in use right now and they've been fine for months (two intel, two vertex) so I guess I just got a rough start. On my home machines I do use acronis to get a full backup every few days just to be safe. Office machines I don't worry about. Data is stored on a server and I can reimage those in minutes if lose a drive.
