I wouldn't say I've ever lived in a shithole, but no tub I've ever used has had such a thing...

The story I quoted left all of us to assume it was a normal bathtub in which once the water stops flowing, the heat will dissipate into the room... something along the lines of all the other bathtubs I've used previously.
