Since we are trading on the 'Net and not an hundred yards apart in Main Street, I doubt if even giving away a complete blueprint for a business would actually cost a cent. In any case it is entirely different from giving away broad hints and how-to information.
Why should you do even that? Because if you aren't the only one with a brain, a lot of others will be doing the same thing, so you are going to get back far more information than you give away. Because even if you are one of the (maybe) 10% making some serious money you don't have all the answers. Because you are far more likely to be one of the 90%+ who makes peanuts or less and you need input from others much more than you need to protect what you already know.
Because if someone trusts and respects you because you have written endless posts about the size of your dick or to spam your sig, you can be fairly sure you have the trust and respect of an idiot.
