Yes, weed DOES help with inflammation and swelling!
THC has a tendency to release water and reduce pain. When pain and water retention is reduced, the joints in your body can relax more and significantly reduce irritation to the joints.
As for organs.. I don't know. I don't have direct experience except to say that when my liver swelled from stones. a quick deep bake session would eradicate the pain and eventually swelling would come down a bit once I laid down. Is that directly related or because my body "relaxed"? I am not sure.
When my liver issues started I could not eat without excruciating pain and dizziness nor could I shit without taking all kinds of laxatives.. even then, it barely did anything for me. I gave up the laxatives and stopped eating. One night I got really baked on hash and I pooped like a mad-man! Then I ate a nice fully rounded meal. No pain or discomfort until the next day. So that next day I smoked a fat bowl, ate breakfast and took an Olympic shit again. After doing this for months.. most of the stones passed on their own. I still have a few left and when they bother me, I smoke up good n high then the pain is gone, swelling goes down some and I can eat.
It's unfortunate they only figured out what was wrong with me after the bulk of stones passed and fed me prescription antacids for a condition I don't have.
So did self medicating help me more than medically sanctioned methods? Absolutely. Anyone who says any different can go stab themselves in the fucking liver for all I care.
I've used pot to deal with stress, anxiety (which ironically used to cause some for me in my younger years), swelling, floating rib pain, back pain, stomach pain, loss of appetite, difficulty evacuating bowels, injuries, etc Heck.. when I broke two bones in my hand last year.. I chucked the codeine and used weed, it worked better and hit me much faster.
