True story...
As teenagers, while working out at the idyllic Hanauma Bay for the Parks and Recreation Department (and actually living there in tents for 2 weeks at a time), on Wednesday's my friends and I would attend free rock concerts at a popular body surfing place for locals called Sandy Beach - we would hitchhike over there (it was safe to do so, and was quite common in Hawaii back then among locals), and we would invariably get high with a group of older stoners jamming out to the music and the waves (among them, a band buddy who went on to become the conductor for the Royal Hawaiian Band, and the current Governor of Hawaii, Neil Ambercrombie).
