Poppers are liquid chemicals that, when inhaled, deliver a short rush by dilating blood vessels and allowing more blood to travel to the heart. Poppers are alkyl nitrates, particularly amyl nitrate, butyl nitrate, isopropyl nitrite and isobutyl nitrate.
The chemical is toxic and can kill people if swallowed.
