Mine is a gold Presidential Day/Date. They go for more 'pre-owned' now than what I paid for it new, so I can't say it was a poor investment. Gold prices skyrocketing also certainly hasn't hurt the resale value on 18K gold Rolex watches. I've never felt the band pull at hairs on my arm. It also definitely brings a different level of service from retail salespeople or a restaurant maître d' if that's what you are looking for - but it can't do 99.999% of what my iPhone can do and my iPhone keeps time better as well.
