How big Adult Business is?
I realize it's supposed to be some in-depth research, but let's bring some rough numbers. I'll start, you bring to it what u know or estimate.
The whole industry consists of:
- content producers and the sites they operate + models;
- webcam sites + models;
- webmasters;
- billings;
- services (design, scripts, instant payments, models agencies, etc)
There're ~ 20k+ paysites within ~4k adult affiliate programs (all current CCbill, Nats, epoch, Verotel, Zombaio, in-house scripts, etc). It's hard to tell the number of models featuring those sites. Also there's such thing as clips4sale and stuff like that. It probably gets a lot of production by its members. From what i know there're many regional market like British, German, French and others with its own rules and life. Those sites aren't counted and their number can be big. Japanese market is supposed to be huge.
FreeOnes database contains almost 20k models (if not mistaken), but it doesn't represent the real amount of girls ever depicted for a pornsite.
Webcams are rolling and major players get almost all webcam traffic, what doesn't work that way for porn sites.
Webmasters can be classified as legal (promoting paysites) and illegal (tubes, wares, pornbb, etc). Very hard to estimate.
There's a dozen of global billings and some countless number of local billings (paysite merchants aren't counted).
And service part. Well it's all those guys hanging at adult boards plus studios getting adult orders as a side-business.
