That's roughly when I switched. My desktop, laptop, DVR, servers, all Linux.
As far as advice for the OP, you said your Linux system does everything you need, right? Well there you go. If you have any problems or questions related to Linux let us know.
I guess the one piece of advice generally is something you've probably already figured out - don't overuse Wine. In fifteen years I've had occasion to use Wine maybe four times. Instead use native software. For example, people who know nothing about it might try to run MS Office using Wine or something. Better results come from using native software like OpenOffice, LibreOffice, or Abiword.
