i am not realy into religion so i cannot tell you much.
but i know that when the usa media sugested conection between iran and those who attact the twin towers that it was not likly. though they have some political views that are the same, they have huge differences.

Iran is run by a bunch of religious zealots who think they're accountable only to God, and there's no real guarantee that any nuclear weapon they could build would be used for deterrence only. There's a big difference between a state that builds one as an equalizer against a far more powerful and belligerent neighbor, and a state that builds one for more equivocal reasons. It can be argued that the U.S. is precisely that "more powerful and belligerent neighbor," but I don't think that's a very strong argument at present.
And, yes, there are Shi'ite terrorist groups, Hezbollah being the main one.
