It would be more along the lines of "hard working mom enduring the struggle" than "rich lazy Porsche owner looking for a bail out".
People love to draw outrageous conclusions to support their preconceived notions about life. The conclusion that society doesn't want to draw is that the person with more money works harder, is more dedicated, and smarter. It's easier to feel better about yourself by assuming the poor person is more deserving than anyone else.
