Sometimes I'm more likely to give some change to someone who actually writes on a sign or says that it's to get stoned, drunk, or whatever, rather than the sorry individual who says it's for food, bus fare or whatever. You know they've been using that line all day/week/month...
When it's chicks I think they tend to lie less than guys - unless they have that ravaged junkie look.
There's one elderly lady who's not underfed or anything in our area who has a schtick about her situation, getting kicked out, not having food, and she cries... an amazing actress, really. The first time I saw her I was really moved and felt bad for her, but all I had was plastic.
But I've seen her in line at the bank, where she appears completely normal. Guess she failed all the auditions or something...
