I drive through there constantly and even make sure I dont speed because cops there pull you over for going 5 miles over so this thread seems odd to me to say least... if children are involved, i think investigation is mandatory, so this all just seems odd. Like no one cares and they swept it under rug...

Try at least reading the first post again where he said the children only came forward about the molestation recently, not in 2003. Geez, the guy comes here looking for some advice after hearing a dramatic story from a friend and all you do is get ultra defensive because it supposedly happened in your backyard and you can't imagine something like that happening around where you live. The most obvious reason why the police were probably reluctant to open an investigation was because it happened 9 years ago and the accuser no longer lives in the area.
