You need to know who you'll promote, how they pay, their samples, SEO and finally how to read stats to make sure the best converters are at the top. Not always the ones people like to watch for free and go do something else.
Then there's adverts. Who will you have as advertisers, what are their rates, what are they selling.
Then buying traffic.
These are things you can learn and improve with experience, still there are a few obvious people you need to avoid.
This is the same information that should be given to all newbies, online and offline, porn or selling fish in a market. Research before you do anything else.
