Ryanair was out of BUD for a while, however they'll come back later this year (as announced by Michael O'Leary last week or so).
WizzAir is another Hungarian company, the biggest LCC in Central Europe. Founded by ex-Malév CEO and management from the money they got from Malév when they were sacked when the political regime changed in 2002. WizzAir was the company who told on Malév in Bruselles at the EU because the government gave well over 100 bln HUF to Malév in the last years to bail out from bankruptcy. This is - as said - against EU policies. As some weeks ago EU forced Malév to pay the money back to the owner (the government), this was the last knife in it's dead body.
No matter, that Alitalia and other big and smaller companies getting aid from the local governments on a regular basis.
