Well it had been a while since he made the offer - not like the $1,450 guy who made his offer, said he would pay when he got back in town from a convention and fell off the face of the Earth. He has a nice negative feedback waiting for him whenever he returns to DP.
If all else fails, I'll make a social app with this name/domain. I have no qualms with keeping it.
