It's terrible that people can go to jail over this kind of thing, particularly if they can PROVE they don't have an income, and prove that they're trying to get one.

What state do they live in? From what I read, dont ask me why I spent an hour researching this shit this morning, but she would need to close the claim for payment. if he is in the rears, she can lend him the money to pay her then give it back.
Tell your friend to call the state court, not local and see if they can retroactively close the case. The state or local court makes no money off him and its a waste of their time, so I doubt they will pursue if she drops it
