Homosexuality was considered a mental illness until 25 years ago. If one type of deviant sexual behavior is not considered a mental illness, why would other types of deviant behavior be treated differently? I'm not talking about child abuse, as it implies obvious sociopathic tendencies (disregard for the well-being of the victim), but merely a passive attraction to boys or girls who are either in the midst of puberty or have yet to reach that age.

In my opinion, it's the same thing. Whether you're gay, attracted to kids, animals, etc., you just deviate from the norm, but I'm not sure it is worthy of the "mentally ill" tag.
