That's right - Ghost Story was the latest Dresden book by Jim Butcher. To me, Haunted came across as a way Palahniuk could compile and re-capitalize on the short stories he had already written for Playboy. Individually, the stories were entertaining, but as a whole the book didn't have the cohesiveness that similar works by John Barth has written have - though Scheherazade-like stories within a story is Barth's stock and trade. An excellent example of Barth's use of the story telling framework is The Last Voyage of Somebody the Sailor. I highly recommend it if you haven't already read it.
