You are seeing a 120hz or higher screen refresh rate. Each TV brand has a different name for this such as "pure motion" or some such thing but its the refresh rate you are noticing. It makes things look very very sharp - too sharp for alot of people - and it is sometimes described as the "soap opera effect".

The high refresh rate is necessary for 3D but distracting for 2D. For this reason you can adjust the refresh rate of your TV in one of your menus somewhere. Look around then experiment for the rate you like the best.
