| If you are using windows,  the best thing to do is to do a clean install,  of the OS first,  then your applications.   Leave the less-accessed data on the mechanical drive,  but move the often-used files to your SSHD for some kick-ass speed.
 If you're on a Mac, there is a good tutorial somewhere about how to do what you want.   You can copy your OS to a flash drive,  then swap your boot hard disk for a flash drive,  then copy the OS to the flash drive without having to re-install it losing all of your settings.   The flash drive itself becomes bootable as well of course making installation a snap.   I don't remember the URL but if you Google it I'm sure you'll find it.
